CZ016 · SPOILER-FREE CASE GUIDE

LAST SIGNAL

A communications outage appears to kill an engineer, but the relay station never actually loses power and a hidden network service keeps transmitting.

Last Signal is CASE//ZERO's most technical file, combining remote-site access, firmware integrity, radio telemetry, packet capture and staged electrical evidence in Sabah's Crocker Range.

The premise

A regional communications outage ends with reliability engineer Daniel Liew dead inside Relay 27. The scene resembles an electrical accident, but the station never lost generator power. Minutes before the outage, Daniel detected an unauthorised firmware image and began capturing traffic from a hidden network path.

What the player is trying to establish

Rebuild the outage from radio, power and network telemetry, determine whether Daniel's death was staged, and identify who installed the hidden access path he was about to expose.

Players must separate the public signal outage from the station's power state, identify an unauthorised firmware path and connect it to someone physically present at the relay.
